BRUSSELS, Belgium -- EU foreign ministers failed to forge a unified stance on Kosovo Monday (July 26th) during discussions on the International Court of Justice's (ICJ) ruling on the legality of Pristina's independence. The five EU member states that have not recognised Kosovo insisted they will not change their position, and that no pressure was put on them to do so. The EU countries that have recognised Kosovo stressed that the ICJ decision has confirmed the legality of Kosovo's independence. Many of the ministers reiterated their calls on Belgrade and Pristina to engage in a practical dialogue, which would enable the calming of relations in the region, improvement of people's daily live, and bringing the region closer to the EU.
