ANKARA, Turkey -- Authorities on Wednesday (March 10th) lowered the death toll from the strong earthquake that rocked eastern Turkey last week, from 51 to 41. The tremor, measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale, shook the eastern province of Elazig early Monday when many people were still sleeping. Local authorities say some victims were counted twice.
