NICOSIA, Cyprus -- Andis Hadjicostis, CEO of the publishing and media group DIAS, was gunned down late Monday (January 11th) outside his home in Nicosia, near the US Embassy. Hadzikostis, 43, was the son of DIAS' owner Costis Hadjicostis, who is believed to be an influential political figure. Andis Hadjicostis owned the most popular television channel in Cyprus, Sigma, a radio station, several magazines and the Simerini newspapers. (Financial Mirror - 12/01/10; AFP, Reuters - 11/01/10)
