Pro-European parties win local elections in Vojvodina

NOVI SAD, Serbia -- The For a European Vojvodina coalition -- composed of the Democratic Party (DS) and G17 Plus -- won the second round of elections for the local parliament in the northern Serbian province of Vojvodina on Sunday (May 25th). The coalition will hold 64 of the 120 seats in parliament, DS Deputy Chairman Bojan Pajtic said at a news conference. He said the victory by democratic forces clearly shows that Serbs support EU integration, as even the representatives of the radical parties voted for the country's European future.
