Serbian president visits Italy, discusses enhanced economic ties

02/05/2006

BELGRADE, Serbia-Montenegro -- Serbian President Boris Tadic paid a working visit to Italy from 30 April-1 May. His office issued a statement Monday (1 May), saying Tadic held a series of meetings with Italian businessmen from Lombardia and Piedmont that focused on enhancing bilateral economic ties and boosting Italian investments in Serbia.

In other news Monday, both Serbia and Croatia marked the 11th anniversary of the controversial "Flash" operation by the Croatian military, which regained control over breakaway Serb territory in Croatia. Croats consider it a major victory, while Serbs say it forced 30,000 Serbs from their homes. (Tanjug, RTS, HRT, HINA, B92, Beta - 01/05/06)
