Serbia arrests hundreds in anti-drug operation

BELGRADE, Serbia -- Police arrested several hundred people Saturday (October 31st) in towns across the country as part of an anti-drug operation. The sweep, dubbed Morava, involved around 2,000 police officers. It started simultaneously at 6am, targeting a drug dealing network active mostly in schools. Interior Minister Ivica Dacic said that over 600 buildings were searched and several dozen kilos of drugs, weapons, cash and stolen cars were seized. Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic said it proves the government is fighting all forms of crime and corruption, and that "nobody will be protected or spared".
